Currently in Portland — October 31st, 2023: A dry Halloween day
Plus, a frigid Halloween night nationwide.
The weather, currently.
A partly cloudy Halloween
🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃 Luckily, the rain is holding out just long enough to give us a dry day for trick-or-treating. We’ll have a partly cloudy day, with temps topping out in the high 50s, and cooling to the mid-40s overnight. We’ll also have a bit of breeze, but it shouldn’t be too bad. Still, you’ll want to wear layers—or choose a costume that easily incorporates a jacket—if you’re going to be out wandering the streets in the evening. Maybe keep a thermos of hot chocolate or tea with you, too.
What you need to know, currently.
Temperatures 10 to 25°F colder than normal will shroud most of the United States on Halloween, bringing a chill to any planned spooky festivities.
Freeze warnings stretch from southern California to Louisiana to eastern Pennsylvania, and some places like western North Dakota may even dip below zero Fahrenheit on Tuesday morning.
It may be a good idea to figure out how to incorporate a jacket into that costume tomorrow night across much of the lower 48. "Mr. Freeze" is a good costume, but only if it's intended. #Halloween

If you have a Halloween costume that’s winter-adaptable, I’d recommend it. Like maybe “Lavender Haze” Taylor instead of “Shake it Off” Taylor??
